Auto repair specialists Rapide has restored the interior and exterior of a Ferrari F1 car to look and feel new.
The project took eight years to complete and cost €3 million ($3.6 million).
The restoration took place at Rapide’s headquarters in Bologna, Italy.
The interior was painted in a new colour, and was painted a bright metallic orange.
The exterior was painted the same colour as the interior, and the interior had its original dashboards and seats.
Rapide will now be selling the car in Spain.
In a press release, Rapide president Antonio Visconti explained that Rapide had a close working relationship with Ferrari.
“When we found out that a project was going to be undertaken on the Ferrari FXX, it was obvious that this project was a must for Rapide, as it is one of our most important customers,” Visconto said.
“It’s not only a project for us, but it’s a project that we will continue to work with Rapide as long as they are working with us.
It’s important for us to keep this relationship with the FXX and this partnership going, because it makes our business more successful and our products more beautiful.”
Rapide has been around for almost 40 years, but the company is not new to racing cars.
Rapides main rivals are Bentley and Ferrari.
Rapide specializes in interior restoration.
The firm has also done restoration work for F1 cars including the McLaren F1 and Ferrari F50.
